An announcement flyer about this program will be distributed in grades 7 and 8. Interested candidates will submit a news article on a specific topic. Auditions will be held for on-camera performances from selected articles.

Staff will work at lunch recess in the Computer lab to create scripts for a weekly newscast of school news and events, including student birthday wishes.  Students will work as reporters on scripts and on camera. The Friday lunch recess webcast will include guests and interviews when pertinent. Staff will enter a Google Classroom to work on scripts each week and record on individual Chromebooks, or in some cases iPads.

Staff will attend an instruction session on writing webcast news stories and learning the basics of streaming on YouTube.

The Newscast will be recorded on YouTube, edited as needed and the link sent out to classrooms on Friday afternoon for all students to see.
